Hello! I am Tally, a 29-year-old learning all about myself, infertility and how to make sense of the journey I am being given.
We have been TTC for about a year and a half and thus I am no expert on all the fertility issues, but I am an expert in the things I’ve gone through and the feelings I’ve felt. I don’t know if these are feelings others have had (or will have), and just wanted a place where I can put them out there. I just wanted a place where I can share my journey and connect with others fighting the good fight.
My faith is the most important thing in my life. It is easy as a Christian to give anecdotal advice when others go through hard situations “God has a plan”, “ You are not forgotten”, “Let go and let God”. But if I’m being real and honest (which I want to be), there are days I believe that and days that I don’t.
I want this blog to be interactive. Post comments if you have something to say. I have personally never posted comments on blogs before because I preferred to be passive, and that’s ok too. Feel free to connect with me if you have something to share or just want to make a link with someone else in a similar or not-so similar place in the fertility journey.
What is No Fruit for you?
Genesis 1:28 (to Adam and Eve)
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Genesis 9:1 (to Noah)
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
Well, what happens when we want to make fruit, but are unable?
Like always, Seinfeld reflects life perfectly. We go through all the motions we are supposed to: we date, we marry, we “live life as a married couple for a while”, we then begin to procreate. Oh wait— Apparently we did something wrong along the way and “No soup for you!”. Everyone else around us gets soup, and looks away from us, not wanting our lack of soup to rub off on their chances of getting their soup.
So I hope you enjoy helping and learning with me what it takes to get some fruit around here!
